Timely Warning Notifications

Under the Jeanne Clery Act and HEOA, 皇家华人 College is required to provide a timely warning or immediate notification of incidents and crimes, which have not yet been mitigated.

When an incident arises, we will keep you up to date to provide you with information for you to manage your personal safety and security. Campus Crime Alerts are released by the 皇家华人 Campus Safety Department when certain crimes are reported on Green River College's Clery Geography, and in compliance with federal law. These timely warnings provide information about campus safety situations, and allow campus community members to take precautions for personal safety. All crimes should be reported as soon as possible to 皇家华人 Campus Safety

Timely Warning: Arson/Outside of West Building on 皇家华人 Main Campus

 
TIMELY WARNING:  Arson/Outside of West Building on 皇家华人 Main Campus

DETAILS:  皇家华人 College is investigating an arson that occurred on 皇家华人 College鈥檚 main campus between the RLC building and the West Building.  A Campus Safety officer discovered a small fire at approximately 12:58 am on 08-31-25 while on patrol.  The officer put the fire out and the fire department arrived and did a safety check of the area.  The fire was started at the base of a tree and the fire department determined the incident to be Arson.  The damage was to the tree and damage was minimal.

WHAT GREEN RIVER IS DOING:  Campus Safety is working closely with the Fire Dept and Auburn Police in regard to the ongoing investigation. Extra patrols are being implemented. 
WHAT YOU CAN DO: 
  • Clear flammable materials: Store firewood, trash bins, and other combustibles away from buildings.
  • Maintain good lighting: Ensure outdoor areas are well-lit to discourage suspicious activity.
  • Report suspicious behavior and follow fire safety protocols.
  • Secure waste areas.

Timely Warning: Motor Vehicle Theft/Campus Corner Apartments (CCA)/皇家华人 Main Campus

 
TIMELY WARNING:  Motor Vehicle Theft/ Campus Corner Apartments (CCA)/皇家华人 Main Campus
 
Date:  07-28-25
 
DETAILS:  The Auburn Police Department is investigating a Motor Vehicle Theft (theft of a self-propelled e-scooter) that occurred at Campus Corner Apartments (CCA) on 皇家华人鈥檚 main campus on 07-28-25 at approximately 5:36am. 
According to the victim, he last saw his e-scooter parked and secured just outside the entrance to his apartment in H building at approximately midnight.  At approximately 8am on 07-28-25, he discovered his e-bike stolen, with various accessories from the bike scattered around the ground.  Further investigation shows the e-scooter stolen at approximately 5:36am.  The suspects were two males, possible in their teenage years, wearing masks.  They entered the property riding bicycles and at one point, were looking through the dumpster.  Campus Safety officers searched the area for the suspects with negative results.
If anyone has information on the suspects or can identify them, do not make contact on your own but please contact Auburn PD immediately by dialing 911 or 皇家华人 Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.
WHAT GREEN RIVER IS DOING:  Campus Safety is working closely with APD with the ongoing investigation and receiving updates as they arrive. Extra patrols have also been added in the affected areas. 
WHAT YOU CAN DO: 
鈥     Campus Safety recommends that you lock your vehicle and keep all valuables locked up or out of sight.
鈥     Be aware of your surroundings. If possible, put your vehicle in an area inaccessible to theft.
鈥     Park in well-lighted areas, if possible. 
鈥     Register your vehicle with Campus Safety and write down serial numbers of your vehicle.
鈥     Whenever you observe criminal activity or what appears to be criminal activity, IMMEDIATELY  call the police or Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.

Timely Warning: Arson/Parking Lot P-4 at Main Campus

 
TIMELY WARNING:  Arson/Parking Lot P-4 at Main Campus 
 
Date:  07-21-25
 
DETAILS:  Valley Regional Fire Authority (VRFA) and Auburn Police are investigating a possible incident of Arson that occurred on 皇家华人 College鈥檚 main campus in the wooded area next to parking lot P-4. The incident occurred on 07-18-25, at approx. 12:47pm.  A staff member reported seeing smoke on the perimeter of parking lot P-4 and when Safety Officers responded, they discovered a brush fire.  Valley Regional Fire Authority was notified and responded.  The fire was extinguished at approx. 1:45pm and monitored throughout the day.  No new outbreaks were found. 
During the initial response, a male was seen walking through the area.  The male was described as a white male, approx. 45-55 years of age, approx. 5鈥11鈥-6鈥02鈥, with a medium build.  The male had long blonde hair, tied in a ponytail, and blonde facial hair.  He was wearing a dark purple hoodie, black pants, and black shoes.  He walked with a staggered gait.

  • Report any smoke or fire to 911 immediately.  Don鈥檛 assume others will call.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. If you see anything suspicious or out of the norm, feel uneasy or unsafe, go to a safe location and call Campus Safety or the police at 911.
  •  Go to the website and review tips to keep you and your property safe from fire and arson.
  • Whenever you observe criminal activity or what appears to be criminal activity, IMMEDIATELY call the police or Campus Safety at (253)288-3350.
